Mr Christopher BAIN (Four people, December 7th - 11th, Northeast Vietnam on motorbike)
Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: The amount of riding, stopping and travelling was very well balanced. We had one short day with a leisurely boat ride on a lake, with a stop on an island for a refreshing swim.
What were your favorite places? The mountains of the far northeast were breathtaking. They rose majestically from the landscape very steeply all around, almost like sharks teeth I've never seen anything like it.
Transportation: The Minsk motorbikes were great. Powerful enough that handled the mountain roads very well, allowing us to take some very small roads through very remote areas.
Accommodation: The homestays were the best. You got to experience a family first hand. See how they live, hear the roosters at 5 am and eat really good food. With our guide as translator, we were able to ask many questions about all aspects of their lives. I would never pick a hotel over the opportunity of a homestay.
Food: Enormous quantity. Excellent quality. My daughter's vegetarian needs were always met and the variety of fresh food was amazing.
The organization - Guide services: Excellent attitude. Tien was a great guide. A cheerful translator and in every way a professional. On one day that one of the Minsk had troubles, he repaired it himself 3 times; it's hard to imagine a better, more friendly guide. Excellent knowledge. Fluent language. Since my daughter is learning to speak Vietnamese, Tien was always helping her with new words, phrases and pronunciation.
The price: An amazingly good value. Very pleasant to not have to pay for each meal, each stay, each gas fill-up too!
How did you hear about us? My daughter took a 3 days 2 nights tour in October.
Any other comments: I can't recommend this company any more highly. It truly is the experience of a lifetime.
