Accommodation: A great part of the experience was the range and variety of our accommodations. All were good, the hotel in Hanoi was clean and service excellent at a bargain price. The best nights were spent in the homes of private citizens especially the tribal village stays. You just can't get any closer to experiencing how these proud people live.

Food: I enjoyed all the meals even though the food was not familiar to me. It was part of the adventure to experience new foods prepared according to local tradition. After a long day riding appetites are big and I think I might have gained a few kilos on the tour. Also, because of TET we were treated to a number of very special meals.

The organization - Guide services: All arrangements went smoothly (I booked over the internet) and there were no problems. The tour itself was described as a tour of visiting friends to share the celebration of TET and that's exactly what we did. Being an adventure tour things did go wrong, flat tires, roads washed out, etc but each event was handled quickly and professionally by the guides.

The price: I thought the tour was a really good value. The chance to meet and stay in the homes of local people was priceless. I'm sure it won't be long before this type of very personal contact with northern Vietnamese people will be impossible as tourism grows in these areas. hat's the great thing about motorcycle travel. It gets you too places the tour buses (or cars) can't manage the roads (or lack of roads).
