Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: The stops were all good because they were varied. Having a shorter distance to travel on day 3 was also good as we were able to rest.

What were your favorite places? Mr Tham at Song Thao. Luc Yen, Xin Man.

Accommodation: The accommodation was OK and was a lot different to how we live in Australia. However all of it was comfortable and adequate to rest. I prefer private houses.

Food: The food again was very different to our usual food and even different to Vietnamese we eat at home. The amount of pork and use of bones was a little hard to get used to.

The organization - Guide services: Hung always has a great attitude. And when we were having problems took charge/responsibility and then sang cheerfully when things got better! He obviously knows his Vietnamese (and world) history! His knowledge of football was also invaluable! He understood all that we said or tried to understand if not clear the first time. We will recommend Hung to all our friends!

The price: The tour was not cheep but in the end we were relatively happy to have spent the amount we did given that we had Hung as our guide, translator, mechanic, comedian, singer and friend!

How did you hear about us? I found Voyage Vietnam mentioned by a traveller who "posted" a message on lonelyplanet.com's "thorn tree" discussion forum. I then went to Voyage Vietnam website.

Others: I think the tour can be improved by a little more structive at the homestay's like a tour of farm or cultural lesson or something. This could be optimal but not commonly for travellers.
