Mr Keith BERGLUND and Ms Nancy LEAS (Two people, October 31st - November 5th, Big North Vietnam on motorbike)Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: The first day of 200 km was long - perhaps the initial day could be shorter since there many things to do before starting out from Hanoi.
What were your favorite places? Tram Ton pass and all of the mountain villages.
Transportation: Long live the Minsk! We love the Minsk!
Accommodation: Hotels were wonderful! We only had one homestay and it very nice.
Food: Very, very good. We were able to try all the local, traditional food. We ate fried bee larva! Enormous quantity. Excellent quality. Wonderful - fresh and delicious.
The organization - Guide services: Excellent attitude. Hung and Tien always had a positive outlook and smiling face! Excellent knowledge. We are inquisitive and interested travellers and Hung and Tien were able to answer all of our questions in great depth and detail. It felt like we were students in a class about Vietnam. They taught us everything we wanted to know! Fluent language. They communicated very well! They taught us many Vietnamese phrases and helped us with pronunciation.
The price: Our tour ended due to injury - this is difficult to answer I think the days we spent on tour were well worth.
How did you hear about us? Internet.
Any other comments: Voyage Vietnam guides must learn better first aid skills and carry a better first-aid kit. Also, they could learn more medical terms in English so that they can better translate in the event of medical emergency. During our situation, we had difficulty communicating with Vietnamese doctors via our guides' translation. The Voyage Vietnam office needs to prepare a better plan of evacuation from anywhere on a tour. It seems like our emergency was the first time Voyage Vietnam had ever considered that an evacuation from a trip might be necessary. Plan Ahead for all possibilities!
