Mr HULME SimonMr HULME Simon (Two people, July 30th - August 1st, Big North loop of Vietnam, Motorbike)

Tempo of the tour and the stop-over: All stops were good. Amount of travel each day was good - some long days, some shorter.

What were your favorite places? Market at Xin Man, Tram Ton pass, Son La.

Transportation: Motorcycle. Great little bikes - keep using the Minsks! I want one!

Accommodation: Prefer private houses, definitely. Always made very welcome and much better food. Hotels okay, but homestays much betters.

Food: Sufficient quantity. Often excellent. 2 or 3 times not so good.

Good quality. Varied. Food in small cafes & homestays was good. Food in big hotels not good, suggest not eating in the hotels.

The organization - Guide services: Dat is an excellent guide. He could answer all questions, but did not keep giving us too much information, just what we wanted to know. And he taught me how to ride the motorbike off-road! Good knowledge. Good language. Great to be able to talk to anyone we met, including ethnic minorities with Dat translating. A real good point.

The price: Most days good value, some not so much, due to quality of food plus (unavoidable) the amount of riding we did.

How did you hear about us? Internet.

Others: First aid and emergency arrangements should be made very clear before the tour starts. Essential.

More homestays, please. The hotels were okay, but homestays better to experience the real Vietnam & meet the Vietnam people.
