    Day 1: Kunming

    Arrival at Kunming airport. (Spring City) 1,896 m, the capital of Yunnan Province, the gate of China to South East Asia. The trade to Burma, Thailand and Vietnam is very flourishing. As its climate is nice all over the year, Kunming is also famous for its variety of flowers. Visit Bird & Flower market in the old town of Kunming. Visit Bamboo Temple with 500 arhat statues that were built in Qing Dynasty. Night in Camellia hotel**.

    Day 2: : Kunming - Shiling

    Drive to visit the Stone forest. Geological activity, about 250 million years ago, created these limestone features and with subsequent erosion, they take on a surreal form, then Lunan old city in the end of afternoon. Transfer back to Kunming. Night in Camellia Hotel**.

    Day 3: Kunming - Tonghai - Jianshui, 206 km

    Road to Jiangshui via Tonghai. Visit Xinmeng Mongol villages, where the residents live in the village keep the culture and costumes from Mongolia. They are the offspring of Khublai Kan from Yuan dynasty. Continue road to Jianshui, the one of 4 culture heritage cities in Yunnan. Discovery of Jianshui old city. Visits Confucian temple in Jianshui, the second largest temple in China. The traditional architecture - named Zhang Garden in Tuanshan Village, visit the stinky Doufu (Beancurd) mill to see how the people process one of the most famous local food - Doufu, tasting the fresh bean milk. Night in Xingfu (new) hotel **.

    Day 4: Jianshui - Yuanyang, 112 km

    End of visits in Jianshui and road to Yuanyang. Yuanyang is located in the south-east of Yunnan province in the mountainous area, which has the average altitude of 1,500 m. The main residents there are Hani, Yi, Miao and Han. The rice terraces are renowned in the province. Visit a village market on the way to Yuanyang according to which day it is. Market day is based on 12 China animals. Night in Yunti hotel*** in the old town.

    Day 5 & 6: Trekking in Yuanyang

    Trekking in Yuanyang area for 2 days. Transfer from the old town to Qingkou by bus about 6 km. Visit a market depends on the exact day. Trekking from Qingkou to Quanfuzai Hani village (4 km), Beida Hani village (6 km), Shengcun Town (4 km), night in local guest house. Continue trekking to Shengcun, Duoyi Yi village (7 km), Aicun Hani village (3 km). Bus to Aicun village to meet the clients and transfer to visit the most wonderful rice terraces in the Province (1,900 m) at Laohuzhui before back to Yunti hotel***.

    - Up 100 m - Down 200 m - Highest point reached during the day: 1,900 m - Trekking time: 5-6 hours per day - Bus drive: 1 hour - Main people: Hani and Yi.

    Day 7: Yuanyang - Jinping, 125 km

    Road to Jinping Via Pengzhihua, Huangmaolin, Laomeng. Viewing the rice terraces and Miao, Dai and Yao villages on the way. Jingping is bordered with North Vietnam, 1,350 m in the altitude, multi-minority nationalities: Red Head Yao, Indigo Yao, Manren, Kucong, Dai, Hani, Yi and Han. Normally Han and Dai people live on the plain; Yao and Hani on the middle of the mountain; Kucong, Yi and Manren on the top of the mountain.

    Discovery of Kucong, who lives on the top of the mountains. Kucong people, 10,000 in population, still keep the old way of trade business: barter. Usually a man leaves a piece of goods (could be meat, cloth or salt) in the forest, Then he walks away, hiding behind the trees, waiting for the other people comes to take and leave something. Visit a market in Zhemi and night in the guest house.

    Day 8: Jinping area, 125 km

    Visit a market in Meng la or Nafa. Nafa is located at the border to Vietnam, a small river Jingshuihe is the border line between 2 countries. The market lies at the river. Nafa is the one of the most colorful markets in Yunnan province because different minority nationalities come for the market in the near and far in full dress, even from Vietnam side. Here you will be stunning for the color of the minority tribes costumes: Red Yao, Indigo Yao, Manren, Kuchong, Miao, Dai and etc…

    To discovery Kucong, you have to trek all the way up to the top of mountain to discover the tribe about 2 hours up and another 2 hours down. Transfer to Jinping town. Night in Xilong hotel**.

    Day 9: Jinping - Hekou, 180 km (around 5 hours by car)

    Discover the Taiyangzai village, the red-head Yao on the way to Hekou. Cross the bridge to Lao Cai before lunch. (Option: extra day back to Kunming and depart on the next day).

    Include:

    - All meals in Chinese style with Yunnan flavor;
    - Surface transportation;
    - Admission fees and parking fees;
    - Travel insurance in China;
    - Hotels: 2 and 3 star hotel in the town;
    - Guide: French guide.

    Not included:

    - Meals other than breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and beverages other than tea at meals;
    - Tipping or gratuities to guides and drivers;
    - Mandatory international travel insurance;
    - Excursions other than those specified in trips;
    - Extra cost if itinerary is delayed or changed due to unexpected reasons beyond control.
