    Transfer to Mui Ne by minivan to avoid the crazy traffic, enjoy swimming in Mui Ne beach. Practice with the bike and ride for the sunset in the dunes.

    2. 23rd Oct, 09: MUI NE
    Early morning ride for the sunrise from the sand-dunes and photograph of Mui Ne fishing boat. Relax and enjoy beach activities on your own.

    Ride along the coach with some breaks to visit Cham towers in Phan Rang. Relax in Nha Trang beach or more activities on your own.

    4. 25th Oct, 09: NHA TRANG – QUY NHON, 220km ~4h
    Continue riding along the beautiful coach with some nice stops at Dai Lanh beach and Ca Passes with beautiful scenery, drive to visit Van Canh battle field.
    Quy Nhon is known as the most famous traditional marshal-art called Vo Binh Dinh and it’s also known for Cham history culture.

    5. 26th Oct, 09: QUY NHON – QUANG NGAI
    Options for riding; heading up mountain road in Truong Son mountain ranges for challenging ride or just drive along the coach with a break in Sa Huynh beach.

    6. 27th Oct, 09: QUANG NGAI – HOI AN, 140km, ~4h
    Drive to visit My Lai massacre, Van Tuong and Binh Son villages. And then continue riding to Tam Ky for a stop to visit tunnels which were missed since the War ended.
    Arrive in Hoi An, free walk to visit the ancient town.

    7. 28th Oct, 09: HOI AN – HUE (Vehicle)
    Leave our motorbike in Hoi An for services, our vehicle will pick you up and transfer to Hue with a morning trip to visit My Son Cham towers (the World Culture Heritage), stop in China beach for lunch and visit Cham museum in Da Nang before conquering the Hai Van passes.
    In the evening, enjoying the traditional folklore song of Hue while taking a night boat trip in Perfume River.


    8. 29th Oct, 09: HUE – HOI AN (Vehicle)
    Hue is the ancient imperial capital of Nguyen Dynasty in Vietnam, this city was recognized as the World Culture Heritage In the morning we visit the Royal Palace, Thien Mu pagoda and King Tombs. In the afternoon enjoy the boat trip in River back to Hue before transfer back to Hoi An.

    9. 30th Oct, 09: HOI AN – DAK GLEI
    Back on the seat of your motorcycle drive toward the Truong Son mountain range on the windy road. Wheeling on the Ho Chi Minh highway to Dak Glei for the night.

    10. 31st Nov, 09: DAK GLEI – ATTAPEU
    Following the Ho Chi Minh highway to Plai Kan and then turn right to the T conjunction border of Vietnam, Lao and Cambodia. Check out Vietnam and enter to Laos, the quiet road after the traffic in Vietnam and the landscape make the 118km distance to Attapeu much shorter than it is.

    11. 01st Nov, 09: ATTAPEU – DON KHONG (KHONE ISLAND), 180km, ~4h
    Drive to by taking the dirt road, through nature forest when arrive at the Highway 13 we keep riding south toward Cambodia border. Ride to Don Khong for the night.

    12. 02nd Nov, 09: DON KHONG – KHON PHAPHENG WATERFALL (boating)
    Full day enjoy boating, swimming to the Khon Phaoheng waterfall at Laos – Cambodia border, in the afternoon return to Don Khong for a visit to Wat Phu.

    13. 03rd Nov, 09: KHONE ISLAND – SALAVAN, 200km, ~5h
    In the morning, we drive along the Thai border up to Pakse for lunch and then take the dirt road to Sekong.

    14. 04th Nov, 09: SEKONG – SEPON, 180km, ~5h
    We are now back in the Ho Chi Minh trail which there are 5 trails leading to the route No9, this is an importance part the Viet Cong (North Vietnamese Army during the 2nd Indochina War) cross the border to south of the DMZ (Demilitarize Zone) to supply the South Vietnam during the war.

    15. 05th Nov, 09: SEPON – NONG CHAN, 150km, ~5h
    We will experienced the most important part of the Ho Chi Minh trail also called “Labyrinthine battle array laid on the eight-sign figure's pattern through the jungle”, the Legendary Trail. Ride the motorcycle through the jungle, cross rivers, ride on a bamboo bridge...ready to rock and roll in the heaviest bombed area in the World. You will see many bomb craters and American bomber crashed like the F4 Phantom, Jets, T28...

    16. 06th Nov, 09: NONG CHAN – LAK XAO
    Nong Chan is a small village just 10km from the Vietnam border with a well known of Mu Gia pass, the “Death Gate” during the Second Indochina War. Mu Gia is one of the main exit points from Vietnam to Laos on the Ho Chi Minh Trail where Viet Cong transported food, weapons, army...to supply the South.

    17. 07th Nov, 09: LAK XAO – THA THOM, 160KM ~4h
    Keep rock and roll in Laos by taking the trail instead of Highway 13, this part of Laos is missed since the 2nd Indochina War ended. Driving up to mountain top then down again to the foot, crossing rivers, springs forest.

    18. 08th Nov, 09: THA THOM – PLAIN OF JARS, 100km, ~3h
    Drive on the mountain dirt road to Phonsavan, Check in and leave our luggage in the hotel, after having lunch we will have full time in the afternoon to visit the plain of jars.

    19. 09th Nov, 09: PLAIN OF JARS – LUANG PRABANG, 200km, ~5h
    A great day for wheeling your motorcycle on windy high mountain-road No7 and No13 where you will have time to visit local ethnic villages of H’Mong, Thai Dam and Thai Nua.

    20. 10th Nov, 09: LUANG PRABANG
    Free day to relax and explore the World Heritage Culture city on your on your own.

    21. 11th Nov, 09: LUANG PRABANG – NONG KHIEW, 210km, ~5h
    Good road leading to visit Pak Ou cave at the T conjunction of Me Kong and Nam Ou river, the continue ONLY motorcycle offroading will meet the road No 1C at Sam Soun, from here we turn left and ride to Nong Khiew.

    22. 12th Nov, 09: NONG KHIEW – MUANG KHUA
    Carry our motorbike on the long tail boat and enjoy a full day boat trip in Nam Ou river, heading up North to Muang Khua with some stops to visit local ethnic villages.

    23. 13th Nov, 09: MUANG KHUA – DIEN BIEN
    Short distance but long journey of motorbiking on dirt road heading to Vietnam border (Sophoun/Tay Trang). Take time to visit ethnic villages on the road side where you will meet many friendly people.
    Exist Laos to enter the Northwest Vietnam at Tay Trang (Dien Bien). The rest part from Tay Trang to Dien Bien is 30 km paved road. After lunch in town, you will visit Dien Bien Phu museum, Alliamce Hill (A1), the Command Banker of De Castries...

    24. 14th Nov, 09: DIEN BIEN – SIN HO
    Ride along Laos border to the North direction of China border on the road No12. Ride in the nature, an amazing adventure for the last 40km heading up to Sin Ho in the sunset. Sin Ho is located at 1700m above the sea-level with the main habitant of H’Mong, Dao, King people

    25. 15th Nov, 09: SIN HO – SAPA
    The most beautiful landscape, mountain hill-tribe in the Northwest of Vietnam will be seen today: Visit Sin Ho market, the most colorful ethnic dressing in Vietnam, where you will meet many different hill-tribes who walk to the market from surrounding villages. The only way that motorbiking will provide you the best way to discover the area. After lunch we drive to Sapa

    26. 16th Nov, 09: SAPA – LAO CAI – HANOI (night train)
    Free at leisure in Sapa until 4PM drive to Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi.

    DEPART 05th Dec, END 22nd Dec, 2009. (18 days 18 nights)


    1. 05th Dec, 09: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Quan Lan Bay
    Transfer out of Hanoi by vehicle and prepare for the departure outside of Hanoi. Take the countryside road driving to Bai Chay where we park the motorbike and get on boat for lunch when the boat begin to cruise in Ha Long Bay. In the afternoon we continue to discover the magic landscape of Lan Ha Bay on ward to Quan Lan island.
    Overnight in Quan Lan island.

    2. 06th Dec, 09: Ha Long Bay – Quan Lan Bay
    Full day kayaking from Bay Tu Long Bay through Lan Ha Bay and stop in Ha Long Bay for an overnight on boat.

    3. 07th Dec, 09: Ha Long – Ninh Binh
    Landing back to the main land after having breakfast to continue our motorbiking trip. The journey taking you to drive on road No 10 from Hai Phong to Nam Dinh and ended in Ninh Binh city.

    4. 08th Dec, 09: Ninh Binh – Pu Luong
    In the morning, explore Tam Coc on boat, visiting Dinh and Le Temples in Hoa Lu and then we drive through Chicken Canal, Cuc Phuong National Park heading to the Ho Chi Minh Highway. The last part riding to Pu Luong is the test of motorbiking skill for all rider.

    5. 09th Dec, 09: Pu Luong – Sam Nua
    Follow Ma River then turn left for real mountain windy road to Na Meo border crossing. It takes about an hour and half for existing Vietnam and entering to Laos.
    Here we are in Laos with beautiful scenery of limestone karts, rain forest. We will make a stop to visit Vieng Xai, the headquarter of Pha Thet Laos during the 2nd Indochina War.
    There are about 480 caves were used by the Pathet Lao during the Second Indochina War to shelter from American bombardment.
    Drive to Sam Nua for an over night.

    6. 10th Dec, 09: Sam Nua – Plain of Jars
    beautiful windy road, ride your motorbike with some stops in local hill-tribe villages along route no 6. Lunch in a restaurant in Nam Neun village before heading on another 95 km to Muong Kham, stop to visit Tham Piew cave - where about 400 people were killed during the second Indochina War by a rocket from American Jet on 24 Nov 1968.
    Then continue another hour to Phonsavan the new capital of Xieng Khoang province.

    7. 11th Dec, 09: Plain of Jars – Tha Thom
    Motorbiking to the Plain of Jars with some stops to visit site 1, 2 and site 3 before we enter to the offroading Laos. No mention, no comment about the road condition, be happy to eat dirt. This is the rules until we end at Bo Y border crossing point back to Vietnam.

    8. 12th Dec, 09: Tha Thom – Lak Xao
    Back to roll your motorbike again after an early breakfast in a local restaurant. Don’t question why not taking the large Highway 13 but trailing forest, no village, no family, no human living around just bikers who love the adventures of a lifetime.

    9. 13th Dec, 09: Lak Xao – Nong Chan
    Lak Xao is just 23km direction to Cau Treo border crossing of Vietnam and Laos, the beginning of Ho Chi Minh trail in Laos. The trails are base on Truong Son mountain range, we will ride the one closed to Vietnam border leading Nong Chan for an over night. Nong Chan is a small village just 10km from Mu Gia Pass at the Vietnam border. This is the “death gate” of the Ho Chi Minh trail, the most importance target for the American Bombardments to stop the supply road of Viet Cong (VC) to the South.

    10. 14th Dec, 09: Nong Chan – Sepon

    11. 15th Dec, 09: Sepon – Sekong
    Follow the road No 9 toward Lao Bao (Vietnam border crossing) till Ban Dong (Dong village), here from 8 Feb to 25 Mar 1971 the South Vietnam, Laos Kingdom and the American operated a campaign called “Lam Son Operation 719” to break off the Ho Chi Minh trail. Stop the supply road of People Army of Vietnam (PAVN) to the South Vietnam. The battle in Ban Dong lasted from 8 Feb to 20 Mar, 1971 before the defeat of Lam Son Operation 5 days later.
    The road from Dong village is the most challenging for motorcycle riding and you will have many chances for stops along the Ho Chi Minh trail for photograph.

    12. 16th Dec, 09: Sekong – Don Khong
    Easy drive downhill from the plateau on a nice paved road to Tad Fan, enjoy swimming and have lunch in the waterfall. In the afternoon, we ride to Lak for a ferry cross Mekong River to Champasak town then ride to visit Wat Phu the ruined Khmer temple complex in Cahmpasak it was recognized as the World Heritage Culture Site. Ride till the end road south to take a boat to Khong island.

    13. 17th Dec, 09: Don Khong
    Full day cruise on a long tail boat to explore the Si Phan Don (4.000 islands) in Mekong with the spectacular Tad Phan (Phan Waterfall), Khon Pha Pheng, Li Phi, waterfalls. Si Phan Don shares the nature border with Cambodia. The boat trip also give you a chance to visit floating villages, the pakha fresh water dolphin (Irrawaddy dolphin).

    14. 18th Dec, 09: Don Khong – Attapeu
    In the morning, ferry cross Mekong river to continue our motorbike ride up north on road No 13 to Thang Beng village, where we turn right back again on dirt road. The destination from here to Attapeu is only around 120km but it seems to be long for ever with some lovely motorbiking river crossings.

    15. 19th Dec, 09: Attapeu – Dak Glei
    From Attapeu is the re-enter to Vietnam of the Ho Chi Minh trail, this is a windy pave road but there will be many historical sites of the Ho Chi Minh trail to see.
    It will take about 2 hours to exist Laos and enter to Vietnam.
    Here we are back in Vietnam with large Ho Chi Minh highway, we drive north on mountain road to Dak Glei for the night.

    16. 20th Dec, 09: Dak Glei – Hoi An
    Continue Motorbiking the Ho Chi Minh road up north pass by Kham Duc and then turn right on a small road with mainly riding downhill before we turn off for a rocky road run through forest to My Son World Heritage Sites.
    After an hour visiting the Holly Land My Son Cham Towers we ride to Hoi An, checking hotel then free walk to visit Hoi An.

    17. 21st Dec, 09: Hoi An – Hue
    Drive along the coast with a stop at China beach where the first US Marin landed in Vietnam in 1965. Visit Cham Museum in Da Nang and then ride over Hai Van passes to Hue, end motorcycle riding.

    18. 22nd Dec, 09: Hue
    Full day visit Hue with including the Royal Palace, Thien Mu pagoda, Minh Mang and Tu Duc Tombs and a boat trip in Huong river (Perfume river).
    Night farewell party.
